A woman in front of him turned around, gave him a $10 bill and said "Lunch is on me." He then put that money in the donation box at the register. It's nice to see kindness exists! Though, I suspect it is much more common in the rest of the world. Similar story:

I have hard time to ask a question even after being six years in the States, I get my heart beat faster if I try to say something in the class room. I think the best way is that you somehow show them how to question. They would learn what kind of questions would be meaningful to ask. Even they may not be able to do it now, I think it will help them in a long-run. I am sure many of them have good questions in their head. Perhaps it would be the "National Geographic" effect? Sometimes printed "research" or "fact" doesn't turn out to be so.
